[Construction Case] Improvement of Punch Life for Hole Punching

Successfully achieved over 16 times lifespan improvement! Case study with New Kanak treatment + PVD (TiN) applied.

To improve the lifespan of the core punch, we reviewed the selection of steel types. Previously, we used SKH51 material with CVD-TiC treatment, but the cause of the lifespan issue was the tip of the punch cracking in a ring shape, so we changed the material to carbide. By applying PVD (TiCN4μ) to the new Kanack treatment, we successfully achieved over 16 times the lifespan improvement compared to before. 【Case Summary】 ■ Previous Issues - The tip of the punch cracks in a ring shape - Peeling of the PVD coating ■ Treatment Effects (due to increased surface hardness) - Reduced wear - Suppression of chipping and peeling of PVD due to new Kanack treatment (underlying treatment) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
